I liked your comment after Marc's talk regarding the differentiation between the medium and the objects produced in / posted through that medium. I'd like to further expand the taxonomic differentiation by mentioning Jyri Engestrom's take on Karin Knorr Cetina's notion of object-centered sociality (http://www.zengestrom.com/b...): that the sociality we see in social networks (or perhaps social media networks) is motivated by / centered around the objects in those networks, e.g., photos, videos or blog posts, i.e., objects as both input and output in social [media] networks.
